“o, it hurts, it hurts,” i cried, “all this growing up is getting old… my heart is wax, my bones are dry, Shepherd come and fetch me to the fold!” run, run, River! shape this stubborn stone! i’ll crumble like clay unless Your mercy shows. “be still and know, take heart,” He said, “clearer; stunning; soon the sun will shine! for where you go, I first have tread and brighter in the darkness looms the light. faith, faith, child! see how you’ve been blessed! o, come to Me, you weary, I’ll give you rest.” like spring after winter, and sun on the leaves; o, come to the fountain to dance where He breathes. like trumpets and harps and every jubilant song; the last tear has fallen and sorrow has gone. when all things are made new, everything sad will come untrue! rejoice, rejoice! arise, proclaim! awake, my heart and sing, o sing, my soul! for salvation knows no other name! Lord Jesus, give me strength that i’d be bold. what comes tomorrow can worry for itself. till coming Glory i’ve hope, i’ve You, my Help. like spring after winter, and sun on the leaves; o, come to the fountain to dance where He breathes. like trumpets and harps and every jubilant song; the last tear has fallen and sorrow has gone. when all things are made new, everything sad will come untrue!

deep the valleys i’ve assailed beleaguered in the darkened veil. fierce and frail from failing fights, when i glimpsed that distant light. my lonesome roads, careworn yet (somehow) untravelled, unraveling a baffling, familiar view recasted on account of having you. what adventure now, my friend; how high the heights that we’ll ascend? whence will spring our vistas new? lead and I will follow you. still, sometimes i get disquieted and anxious but, unvanquished i hang this burden by knowing nothing worth a whistle goes untried. i don’t know what lies ahead, what tricks and traps wait where i’ll tread. through thick and thin and come what may, in every trouble still you've stayed. chanceless strides bounding towards all that's uncertain. averting the worst winds, bracing through, for the love that sends me chasing after you...

i’ve been places plenty times, i’ve travelled all around but, in all the wheres i’ve yet to find a place to settle down. so i’m hoping that it’s there, as i get to the next town because, really, i am feeling pretty weary now. don’t we all want somewhere to come home to; to hang our hats and coats too, like any other kid? i’ve seen a lot of houses, slept on couches, floors and beds so i know i’m after more than just a place to lay my head. i’m hoping that it’s there waiting just around the bend, it’d be nice to meet the neighbours before i am dead. don’t we all want somewhere to come home to; to hang our hats and coats too, like any other kid? in the childishness of chases, i took for granted bases seeing nothing of their value as i hid. i may be getting older, but i still want somewhere to fit. i’ve got a suitcase for my clothing and a heart i keep for friends but both are getting full so let’s just hope the seams can bend! at least until i’m there, when all this wandering’s at an end and just read it in the postcards someone else has sent. don’t we all want somewhere to come home to; to hang our hats and coats too, like any other kid? in the childishness of chases, i took for granted bases seeing nothing of their value as i hid. i may be getting older, but i still want somewhere to fit.

ae fond kiss 02:47
they built with bricks and mortar, hammered wood and carven stone and wrought the walls where ivy crawls from crept-in cracks outgrown. there’s something of a secret sealed in ceaseless eulogies but the fundaments that keep it cannot help themselves but sing! where now there hangs a mirror sat a bureau in its stead and erst was graced by letters laced in blushing tones of red. that same heritage of feeling had its seeding in my heart and will beat and keep repeating until ilka star goes dark… o, my love; my monument and constant o’er the years. o, my love; my easement as the evenings disappear… in ageing edifice, still, tender touch our lips. forever fixt in ae fond kiss. in years from now (long since we’ve slipped the surly bonds of earth) it still remains, that sturdy strain sown potent in the dirt. where then will grow a forest from the sprouting of two trees. our old secret sung in chorus as the wind stirs through our leaves. o, my love; my monument and constant o’er the years. o, my love; my easement as the evenings disappear… in ageing edifice, still, tender touch our lips. forever fixt in ae fond kiss.

little bird 04:17
what a ways we’ve wandered, knowing only where we’ve been, it’s a wonder how we found our way here… like a filament’s glow, slowly all new lights begin with a warming and a waiting to come clear. when away the sun is hiding, pray patience perseveres (there’s hope enough to hold us for the while). for He Who holds the heavens so carries you, my dear, the author of the joy behind your smile. sing out your song, little bird gathering seeds and mind what your mama’s always said. hear how my voice calls for your harmonies while Heaven hollers the tune in my head. courage now, my darling, you’re anchored in the veil; steadfast is His Love that hides you. He is honey to the mouth, He is strength to the frail and it’s He i see that’s shining from inside you. sing out your song, little bird gathering seeds and mind what your mama’s always said. hear how my voice calls for your harmonies while Heaven hollers the tune in my head. and this i pray, that your love abounds more and more still; growing in grace. being filled with the fruits of righteousness, seeking His face to the glory and praise of the Father Who waits in longing.

shall i compare you to some summer sonnet; sweetly sung or softly spoke… more like the mystery of a near-off comet, beautifully burning with the fires of hope. oh no, please don’t go… i’ll eat you up, i love you so! were i the wind, winding where i wanted, you’d hear my song upon the breeze… though on this road, lonesome and daunted, i know that mercy leads in front of me! oh no, please don’t go… i’ll eat you up, i love you so! saying goodbye thaws like snow as the hurting slowly seeps and grows. weeping prose woefully uncomposed… then, lifting my chin up, remembering the light, it’s a blessing i’ve a reason to cry! you’re a blessing and it’s making me cry… oh no, please don’t go… i’ll eat you up, i love you so!

about

This humble collection of songs is a “hello", of sorts. Much time and thought has gone into the crafting of these songs and I have many more to follow. I tender this free of charge; however, if you are able to help me by paying even as little as $10 for this body of work it would help fund future releases. I hope you enjoy these first fruits and will follow along with me for all that is yet to come.

about

pilgrims, we Seattle, Washington

each of us is prone to wander while we are here abroad. and
whatever which way we wonder (be it all for gain or blunder),
still holes in hearts point, pining after all we can’t quite know.
onwards! upwards! ever fonder we grow! never dimmer
but refining all our brilliance, chasing that Light.

and so we sing. songs for hope; for joy.
for all of us our wayward, journeying on.
going home.
